Your bike is with us. What now?

A few important things to know to make the bike service process as smooth as possible – for you and for us.

When you leave your bike with us for a service or repair, our work begins. Sometimes everything goes exactly according to plan. Sometimes your bike reveals a little hidden surprise along the way. So here’s what you can expect.

When will my bike be ready?

When you drop off your bike, we’ll give you an estimated completion date.

The actual timing can be affected by additional issues we discover, the complexity of the repair, and, most importantly, the availability and delivery of the necessary spare parts or materials.

When you receive our SMS, your bike is ready for collection.

If you haven’t received an SMS yet, your bike is most likely still “on the operating table”. We promise we haven’t forgotten about it.

What if we discover another problem during the service?

That’s quite common with bikes. Some things only become apparent once the bike is on the stand and we can inspect it more closely or take things apart.

If we discover unexpected additional work or materials costing more than €30, we’ll give you a call and agree on how to proceed.

For smaller additional jobs costing up to €30, we generally won’t call you separately.

Why?

Because it would be rather impractical to call you about every little thing. At the same time, the most important thing when servicing a bike is that, once the work is done, the bike is safe and ready to ride.

Safety always comes first.

What if you don’t answer?

We’ll always try to reach you.

So if you spot an unfamiliar number among your missed calls, there’s a good chance it’s us. Please call us back. We’ll be very happy to hear from you.

Once you get the SMS, it’s time to collect your bike

When the service is complete, we’ll send you an SMS notification.

From the time you receive the SMS, we ask you to collect your bike within 48 hours.

Can’t make it in time? No problem. Just let us know. If we agree on a different collection time, we’ll of course keep your bike for you.

If your bike stays with us for more than 48 hours after you receive the SMS and you haven’t made another arrangement with us, a storage fee of €5 per day will apply.

Why? Because our workshop is for servicing bikes, not for long-term parking.

What if you don’t collect your bike for a long time?

If you don’t collect your bike within 30 days of being notified that the service is complete, and you haven’t made another arrangement with us, we will donate it to Bike Library (Knjižnica koles).

So if life gets in the way, just give us a call. We’ll sort it out.

What happens to the replaced parts?

When we replace worn or damaged parts on your bike, we can show them to you when you collect your bike.

Want to take the old parts home as a souvenir? Fair enough.

Just let us know before the service starts, as otherwise the replaced parts will be sent for recycling once the job is done – and once they’re there, unfortunately, we can’t bring them back.

Please don’t bring us a ball of mud.

It’s simply not possible to carry out a proper service on a very dirty bike.

Mud, sand and other off-road decorations have a habit of settling exactly where our mechanic needs them the least.

If your bike is so dirty that it can’t be properly worked on, we’ll have to clean it first. Cleaning will be charged at our hourly rate.

So, if possible, bring your bike in a condition that allows our mechanic to get straight to work.

Bringing an e-bike? Don’t forget the battery key.

ČeIf you’re bringing an e-bike in for service, we need:

  • the battery key
  • a sufficiently charged battery

Without the battery key and enough battery power, it can be difficult to properly check everything that needs checking.

Got a lock?

If your bike has a lock attached to it, please make sure it is unlocked and hanging from the handlebars when you drop off the bike.

Who can collect my bike?

Your bike can be collected by anyone who has the collection slip you received when you dropped the bike off for service.

In short: before your bike goes into the workshop

Keep your collection slip safe.

If you have an e-bike, bring the battery key and make sure the battery is sufficiently charged.

Unlock your bike lock and hang it from the handlebars.

If you want your replaced parts back, let us know when you drop off the bike.

When you receive our SMS, your bike is ready for collection.

If you can’t collect your bike within 48 hours, let us know and we’ll make arrangements.

And if your bike is very dirty… well, you know what to do.
